On 6 May 2026, BEIA participated in the 11th edition of the Smart Cities of Romania Conference (SCoR 2026), organized in Bucharest and dedicated to the role of digitalisation and artificial intelligence in the transformation of Romanian communities.
The event brought together representatives from public administration, private companies, universities, research organisations, and innovation ecosystems to discuss the future of smart communities, sustainable urban development, AI-driven public services, digital transformation, 5G connectivity, edge computing, and resilient city infrastructures.
Within this context, BEIA highlighted ECYBRIDGE as one of its key European projects addressing cybersecurity, resilience, and secure digital infrastructures, while also promoting other ongoing research and innovation initiatives related to smart communities, mobility, sustainability, and AI-enabled technologies, including EVOROADS, DOME, AIAS, PASITHEA, ReCharged, GeoSpectrum, ONCODIR, ONCOSCREEN and other initiatives from BEIA’s active portfolio.
The conference provided valuable opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange, and stakeholder engagement regarding AI-based solutions applicable to smart communities and future urban ecosystems.
