The project Q-Cement: a photocatalytic cement in the visible spectrum will contribute to the following area(s) of cooperation:
● Developing cementitious formulations with Q-field
● Testing and ranking cementitious formulations in vitro
● Modeling NOx reduction in simulation
● Testing high ranking formulations in situ
The project involves developing, testing, and validating advanced cementitious formulations with Q-field to reduce NOx emissions. Activity 1 focuses on creating and optimizing cementitious materials infused with photocatalytic agents, led by Spectrum Blue AS, aiming to achieve a prototype formulation. Activity 2 involves Spectrum Blue AS conducting in vitro tests to evaluate and rank the NOx reduction effectiveness of these formulations. Activity 3 includes all parties using simulation tools to model NOx reduction in urban environments, providing predictive data for field testing. Activity 4 has BEIA conducting field tests on the highest-ranking formulations to validate their real-world effectiveness and feasibility for large-scale implementation.
