Academia, industry, public authorities, NGOs and communities

Co-creation

Users contribute directly to design, testing and improvement of solutions

Full Innovation Cycle

From ideation to pilot testing, monitoring and impact assessment

How We Work

The Living Lab brings together stakeholders from academia, industry, public authorities, business support organisations, NGOs and local communities, following a Quadruple Helix approach. Its activities are based on co-creation, experimentation and real-life validation, allowing users and stakeholders to contribute directly to the design, testing and improvement of new technologies and services.

NEXUS BEIA 2050 Living Lab supports the full innovation cycle, from ideation and stakeholder consultation to prototyping, pilot testing, implementation, monitoring and impact assessment. Through workshops, co-creation sessions, hackathons, field trials, surveys and focus groups, the Living Lab facilitates collaboration between technical experts, researchers, companies, public institutions and end-users.

Infrastructure & Resources

The Living Lab provides access to infrastructure and tools for research, experimentation and validation. These resources enable the development and testing of solutions in real-life contexts, especially in areas related to smart energy, water quality monitoring, environmental sustainability, green infrastructure, digital transformation and resource management.
