Between 28–31 October 2025, the Romanian Red Cross organized the Caravana de Sănătate – Free Medical Consultations, held in Sector 5, Bucharest.
The initiative provided free access to essential medical services for vulnerable persons, including general medicine consultations, pediatric services, pediatric dentistry, blood tests, EKG investigations, medical optics, and physiological parameter measurements.
Caravana de Sănătate is part of a broader national effort of the Romanian Red Cross aimed at improving access to primary healthcare services for underserved communities.
In this context, BEIA highlighted the SHIFT-HUB – Smart Health Innovation & Future Technologies Hub, a pan-European initiative supporting the development and uptake of Smart Health solutions through open innovation, Living Labs, and a dedicated digital platform including a Health Data Hub and Smart Health Apps Repository.
Through SHIFT-HUB, BEIA contributes to strengthening collaboration between stakeholders and accelerating the adoption of innovative, citizen-centered digital health solutions across Europe.
BEIA also continues to disseminate results from complementary Horizon Europe projects in the health domain, including ONCOSCREEN, ONCODIR, and MOBILISE, which address prevention, evidence-based decision-making, and integrated health response systems.
Such community-oriented initiatives underline the importance of combining direct medical support with research-driven innovation to ensure sustainable healthcare development.
