From Nanoelectronics to Air Intelligence: BEIA Consult at the NET4Air Closing Event — Bucharest, 1 July 2026

On 1 July 2026, BEIA Consult International presented at the NET4Air Closing Event — Knowledge–Public Transfer Zone, sharing our R&D portfolio and its connections to the project’s core focus areas: nanoelectronic-based devices, nanotechnology, smart systems integration, and air quality monitoring.

The presentation, delivered under the Knowledge–Public Transfer Zone framework of NET4Air, highlighted the direct relevance of BEIA’s active European and national project portfolio to the challenges of distributed environmental intelligence, IoT sensor networks, open hardware ecosystems, and smart data exchange — demonstrating how our research portfolio contributes to the broader nanoelectronics and air monitoring mission that NET4Air has pursued throughout its lifetime.

The following projects were featured as direct contributions to the NET4Air knowledge ecosystem:

Environmental Monitoring & IoT
SIOTIN — intelligent IoT sensors (CO₂, humidity, temperature, light) for environmental automation, with edge AI architecture directly transferable to outdoor air quality monitoring networks. DANUBIUS-RO — multi-parameter water and air quality monitoring with sensor networks and data analytics for the Danube River system. PLENTY-Life — smart city pilots in 7 European cities combining environmental sensors and citizen science for air quality and urban greening. ReCharged — EV charging infrastructure with smart grid sensors for energy and air quality co-monitoring in urban environments. Tel-MonAer — mobile telemonitoring system for outdoor air quality data acquisition, remote transmission and monitoring workflows.

Connectivity & Edge Intelligence
DOME — federated open cloud and edge marketplace providing smart data exchange backbone for distributed sensor and IoT networks, aligned with GAIA-X. Arrowhead fPVN — industrial IoT interoperability platform enabling machine-readable sensor data exchange — infrastructure applicable to distributed air quality monitoring networks.

Microelectronics & Open Hardware
ISOLDE — high-performance open-source RISC-V processor ecosystems for domain-specific edge computing, providing the processor foundation for nanoelectronic sensing nodes. PNTS — revitalising Romania’s semiconductor ecosystem through pilot production lines, technology transfer, and specialised training.

Digital Culture & Public Engagement
META-MUSEUM — XR and metaverse platform for immersive cultural heritage engagement, mirroring the Knowledge–Public Transfer Zone’s public engagement mission.

BEIA’s authorised partnerships with Libelium (Waspmote modular IoT sensor platform supporting CO, CO₂, NO₂, O₃, SO₂, PM, temperature and humidity monitoring) and Adcon/OTT (professional telemetry, weather stations, and environmental monitoring systems) further ground our participation in the practical hardware ecosystem of air quality monitoring.

Our full active portfolio spanning smart energy, digital health, cybersecurity, precision agriculture, sustainable mobility, and advanced manufacturing: HRIA, ReCharged, DOME, Arrowhead fPVN, PASITHEA, DANUBIUS-RO, PNTS, GeoSpectrum, ONCODIR, ONCOSCREEN, Ro-HydroHub, ECYBRIDGE, uBlueTec, AIAS, Oenotrace, CHRISS, Exploit4InnoMat, ZeroDefect4PV, META-MUSEUM, PLENTY-Life, ISOLDE, FASTCHARGE, H2VOLT, SIOTIN, ResPonSe, EVOROADS, D4SPAs, UMERS, CIRANET and AgriNomand.
