For three days, the campus of POLITEHNICA Bucharest became a true hub of
innovation, bringing together academia, industry, and the public to explore the future of
food, agriculture, and sustainability.
From smart farming technologies and AI-driven solutions to sustainable food systems
and eco-friendly living concepts, BIOFEST showcased how innovation is shaping a
more efficient and responsible agri-food sector.
The event connected researchers, companies, and students, highlighting the
importance of collaboration in tackling global challenges related to food security and the
environment.
At BIOFEST 2026, BEIA Consult International presented several research projects in
the fields of smart agriculture, traceability, and sustainability. Among these, SIOTIN and
OENOTRACE are particularly relevant for the digitalization of agriculture and the food
supply chain.
SIOTIN = a more general IoT project → digital infrastructure for smart applications
(including agriculture)
OENOTRACE = a concrete, advanced project → full traceability in viticulture based on
IoT and data models
Also we had an oportunity to dessiminate relevant projects such as META-MUSEUM, ReCharged, SmartSense .
These two flagship projects from BEIA’s portfolio embody several key concepts in
research, development, and innovation in modern agriculture, including food safety,
traceability and transparency, sustainable technologies for the food supply chain, and,
finally, smart agriculture.
