BEIA Organized the ONCODIR Policy Roundtable Romania Focused on CRC Prevention

BEIA organized and facilitated the ONCODIR Policy Roundtable Romania on May 14, an event dedicated to the integration of digital and personalized solutions for colorectal cancer prevention into the healthcare system.

The discussions brought together representatives from public authorities, the medical sector, research organizations, patient associations, and the private sector, focusing on policy prioritization, sustainability, and implementation pathways.

Among the main conclusions highlighted during the discussions:
🔹 colorectal cancer prevention should become a more visible priority within national health policies;
🔹 there is a need for a sustainable funding model and clearly defined institutional responsibilities;
🔹 IT interoperability and the use of real-world data are essential conditions for implementation;
🔹 digital and AI-based solutions should support healthcare professionals without creating additional administrative burden;
🔹 improving health literacy and strengthening public trust in digital tools are critical for the success of prevention programmes.

Participants emphasized the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration and the need to transform pilot initiatives into sustainable and scalable national mechanisms.
