BEIA delivered the digital tools training for healthcare professionals involved in the ONCODIR LIP-01 pilot

BEIA Consult International delivered the training session on the NELI and DEPO digital tools for healthcare professionals participating in the LIP-01 pilot of the European ONCODIR project.

The event was organized by MERIC (Medical Education Research and Innovation Center) and brought together family physicians and nurses who will be involved in the implementation of the pilot study.

During the training, participants were introduced to:

  • the NELI mobile application, used by study participants to complete questionnaires and monitor lifestyle-related information;
  • the DEPO platform, which enables healthcare professionals to review participant data, assess risk, and validate AI-supported recommendations;
  • the participant-to-clinician data workflow;
  • the clinician’s role in validating recommendations based on the human-in-the-loop principle.

Beyond the ONCODIR training, we also had the opportunity to discuss BEIA’s broader research and innovation activities, presenting several ongoing European projects, including ONCOSCREEN, MOBILISE, SHIFT-HUB, and other initiatives focused on digital health, cancer prevention, smart technologies, and citizen-centered innovation.

The ONCODIR project aims to support colorectal cancer prevention through trustworthy AI-based digital solutions while ensuring that all clinical decisions remain under the responsibility of healthcare professionals.
