On 24 June 2026, BEIA Consult International participated in the event “Green Infrastructure as a Strategic Public Investment in Romanian Cities”, excellently organised by the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest, bringing together participants from the public sector, academia, research institutions, and the private sector for a full day of presentations, discussions, and forward-looking collaboration.
The event covered three major European funding programmes with direct relevance to urban green infrastructure investment: ESPON (European Observation Network for Territorial Development and Cohesion), the European Urban Initiative (EUI), and Cluster 6 of Horizon Europe — providing valuable, structured insight into the opportunities available for cities and research institutions pursuing sustainable urban development.
Among the central themes of the day were the implications of the Nature Restoration Law and the ways in which green spaces can meaningfully address the real needs of urban communities — a discussion that emerged as one of the most substantive and inspiring threads of the event. Productive exchanges took place throughout the day, future collaborations were initiated, and professionals with innovative ideas presented projects already implemented or currently in progress.
The event concluded with a visit to the university’s greenhouses, where students have been developing their agronomy diploma and doctoral projects — a fitting close to a day dedicated to the connection between science, policy, and the living city.
