On 30 April 2026, BEIA participated in the DUAL-USE Cluster Meeting organized by the Dual Use Cluster (DUC) in partnership with WeH EDIH, focused on accelerating innovation and collaboration within Romania’s defence and security ecosystem.
The meeting highlighted major funding opportunities available through the European Defence Fund (EDF) and STEP programmes, including 31 open calls with a total budget exceeding €1 billion, supporting research, development, digitalisation, and dual-use technologies at European level.
The event brought together cluster members, SMEs, technology providers, and innovation stakeholders to discuss the formation of national and international consortia addressing strategic areas such as UAV technologies, counter-drone systems, satellite data integration, smart textiles, cybersecurity, CBRN solutions, and advanced digital infrastructures.
Within this context, BEIA promoted several ongoing European research and innovation projects relevant to cybersecurity, resilience, defence technologies, and digital transformation, including ECYBRIDGE, PASITHEA, CHRISS, AIAS, DOME, EVOROADS, FOR-FREIGHT, and other initiatives from BEIA’s active portfolio.
