BEIA at COMM2026 – The 16th International Conference on Communications

On 28–29 May 2026, BEIA participated in the 16th International Conference on Communications (COMM2026), held in Bucharest and organized by the Military Technical Academy “Ferdinand I” together with the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest under the aegis of IEEE Romania Section.

The event brought together researchers, industry representatives, universities, and technology stakeholders to discuss the future of communications, cybersecurity, AI, IoT, UAV systems, adaptive networks, and secure digital infrastructures in the context of emerging technologies such as 6G and intelligent sensing. The conference programme included dedicated sessions on Communication and Information Systems Security, Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Systems, UAVs & Intelligent Sensing, and Research & Innovation for Secure Societies (RISS).

Within this framework, BEIA disseminated the ECYBRIDGE project, highlighting its role in strengthening synergies between civilian and defence cybersecurity ecosystems, supporting resilient digital infrastructures, and fostering collaboration in secure communications and cyber resilience.

Additional projects from BEIA’s portfolio discussed with participants during networking sessions and conference breaks included PASITHEA, CHRISS, DOME, EVOROADS, AIAS, ONCODIR, ONCOSCREEN, GeoSpectrum, FASTCHARGE, H2VOLT, ReCharged, OENOTRACE and many more, together with other European research and innovation initiatives addressing cybersecurity, AI, mobility, energy resilience, smart infrastructure, and digital transformation.

COMM2026 provided an excellent opportunity for networking, scientific exchange, dissemination, and collaboration with experts from academia, defence, telecommunications, and industry, reinforcing BEIA’s active role within the European research and innovation ecosystem.
