On 27 May 2026, BEIA Consult International attended the CIO Council Cybersecurity Forum 2026 — hosted at the National Bank of Romania, bringing together senior business leaders, CIOs, CISOs, regulators, and policymakers to address the evolving cybersecurity landscape. This year’s forum focused on how organizations can move beyond traditional cybersecurity approaches toward trustworthy AI, cyber resilience by design, identity-centric security, and robust governance models, with special attention given to AI-driven disinformation and deepfakes as instruments of geopolitical influence, market manipulation, and trust erosion.
For BEIA, this was a natural and important room to be in. Our participation was anchored by five projects sitting squarely at the heart of the forum’s themes. ECYBRIDGE — Strengthening Synergies in Defence and Civilian Cybersecurity, funded under the Digital Europe Programme and supported by ECCC — builds the frameworks needed to bridge civilian and military cyber resilience across Europe, directly addressing the geopolitical and institutional dimensions discussed throughout the forum. CIRANET develops an AI-based cyberintelligence platform for risk identification and analysis in large-scale filesharing and IoT environments — exactly the kind of tool CISOs and security directors need. ISOLDE delivers a high-performance, open-source RISC-V platform for sovereign, secure computing ecosystems. Arrowhead fPVN brings flexible, secure production value network management with embedded interoperability. And PASITHEA — our hybrid autonomous unmanned vehicle system — carries direct relevance for the defence and security implications of AI that dominated much of the forum’s agenda.

Through high-level keynotes, strategic panels, and executive discussions, the forum explored how enterprises and public institutions can strengthen digital trust, ensure operational continuity, and navigate regulatory and geopolitical complexity — conversations that BEIA is proud to contribute to through active European research.
