BEIA at INNOCONSTRUCT 2026

Innovation in construction is no longer only about materials and engineering – it is increasingly about data, interoperability, cybersecurity, AI, and resilient digital infrastructures. This was one of the central themes explored during INNOCONSTRUCT 2026, where BEIA joined discussions alongside industry leaders, researchers, public authorities, and technology providers.

Held in Bucharest on 14–15 May 2026, the conference focused on how digital transformation is reshaping the construction ecosystem, from BIM integration and smart infrastructure to sustainability, lifecycle management, and secure information flows across complex projects.

For BEIA, the event represented an important opportunity to connect the construction sector with broader European innovation initiatives. Among the projects highlighted during the conference was ECYBRIDGE, focused on strengthening cybersecurity synergies between civilian and defence sectors and supporting resilient digital ecosystems across Europe.

Additional projects from BEIA’s portfolio presented during the event included DOME, PASITHEA, EVOROADS, ReCharged, AIAS, H2VOLT, ONCODIR, ONCOSCREEN, CHRISS, GeoSpectrum, and many other European research and innovation initiatives, reflecting BEIA’s multidisciplinary approach to digital transformation, sustainability, mobility, resilience, cybersecurity, and secure infrastructure development.

INNOCONSTRUCT 2026 created an excellent framework for dialogue on the future of connected and intelligent construction ecosystems, where innovation, interoperability, and cybersecurity increasingly converge.
