Title: Natural Language Processing Techniques and Applications
Abstract: Natural Language Processing (NLP) is a field of Artificial Intelligence, appeared around 1950, and rapidly developed during the last years. Due to the importance recently gained, we will dedicate our paper to this subject, presenting some fundamentals, followed by real life applications. NLP is concerned with empowering computers to understand, interpret and generate human language, in both his forms: oral, as speech and written, as text. It works based on Signal Processing, Text Analysis, Statistical Methods, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, applied in order to solve tasks like Speech Recognition, Text Classification and Summarization, Sentiment Analysis and many others. As applications we will detail: Chatbots and Virtual Assistants, Search Engines, Translation, Text Summarization, Customer Service Automation, Healthcare and of course, ChatGPT.
