Siemens will establish mobile working as a core component of its “new normal” and will make it a permanent standard, both during the global pandemic and beyond. The company’s Managing Board has now approved implementation of a corresponding model. The aim is to enable employees worldwide to work on a mobile basis for an average of two or three days a week, whenever reasonable and feasible.

 

Medidata, a Dassault Systemes company, the global leader in creating end-to-end solutions supporting the entire clinical trial process announced that it is collaborating with Moderna to support clinical trials of mRNA-1273, Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine candidate. Medidata’s suite of technologies is supporting the advancement of Moderna’s mRNA-1273 clinical trials, including the Phase 3 trial, which is expected to enroll 30,000 participants.

Panasonic Corporation in association with JR East Group, launch a mobility service trial using Panasonic’s robotic mobility device – an electric wheelchair with autonomous tracking function. Ericsson announced that Verizon has become the first U.S. communications service provider to receive a 5G base station manufactured at Ericsson’s new 5G production factory in Texas. Also, the company has been selected by XL Axiata to deploy 5G-ready cloud core technology solutions in East Indonesia. This includes Ericsson Cloud Packet Core and Network Functions Virtualization Infrastructure (NFVI) solution.

 

LANCOM Systems, German network infrastructure supplier, announced that the LANCOM XS-5110F is the first fiber aggregation switch available from the German network infrastructure supplier LANCOM Systems. This device of the 10-Gbps class is an efficient, high-performance basis for data-hungry applications and the ever-increasing number of clients that operate with 1 Gbps or more on the access switch level. Also, the company is providing a free update for its next-generation UTM firewalls.
